Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau welcomes Park Rangers in to visitor center
Oakhurst, CA. – Park Rangers from Yosemite National Park will be helping travelers in the Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau visitor center in Oakhurst this coming Holiday season.
In a press release issued by the park, Superintendent Don Neubacher said “We are very happy to be able to provide Park Rangers to assist in staffing the gateway community visitor centers. We have received a lot of positive feedback about Rangers who have staffed these centers during the summer months. The holidays are a great time to visit Yosemite National Park.”
YSVB staff agreed, saying the ranger’s help in the summer was appreciated by visitors and staff alike this past summer, and they look forward to once again having rangers on hand.”
“We have a fantastic relationship with the National Park Service and the staff at Yosemite,” said Jarrod Lyman, director of PR with the YSVB.
“The Ranger’s presence will beneficial to our operations, as their direct link to the park will help ensure we give our visitors the latest park information available.”
From Dec. 17 to Jan. 2, guests will be able to purchase annual passes for 2012 from the ranger as well as the Interagency Annual Pass, Lifetime Senior Pass and Access Pass. Single visit passes can also be purchased.
“Yosemite’s leadership has been tremendously involved in the gateway communities, this partnership is further evidence of their commitment to working with the gateways and ensuring both the park and the communities prosper,” said Lyman.
The Oakhurst visitor center is open Monday through Saturdays from 9 am until 4:30 pm.
The YSVB also has a satellite visitor center at the Fossil Discovery Center in Chowchilla off of Highway 99.
